Suffers from months of festival hyperbole, but still emerges as something of an action spectacular. It's weakness is that no matter how inventively choreographed the fight sequences are, there’s only so many times you can watch a breakneck fight without giving a sh*t about the hero that’s getting his ass kicked.
SILENT HOUSE
An interesting gimmick that's well orchestrated, all anchored by Olsen's superb Scream Queen debut. There are moments of excruitiating tension but this is all exposition and very little denoument. Above average horror fare that fails to deliver on its promise.
AMERICAN PIE: REUNION
Most things become bloated and repetitive with age, and this unwarranted sequel from a franchise well past it's sell-by-date is no exception. There are echo's of nostalgic humour from the Greatest Hits set pieces, but this Pie went stale a long time ago.
